I had just gotten up and was now ready to go to on my first mission. There was a report of a Native Alter where I used to live
causing trouble. Considering where it was it could've been anything. They sent me on the mission by myself with some soldiers from
HOLD. I was completely excited considering that I didn’t know what was in store for me. After driving for a few hours the transport unit
stopped and I got out. To my surprise we were in front of the forest where Cougar told me that the creator of all alters was. My mission
was to go in and find out what was inside. The only problem was that there were animals with alter abilities inside this forest and that the
temple was in the dead center. I took out my alter and ran into the forest. The animals attacked me thinking I was intruding.
" Shockwave of the first BLITZ!! " I screamed and flew into the air crashing down on an animal's alter killing it.
The amount of animals possessing the ability in the forest was truly amazing. Finally I reached the center of the forest, and there
he was. He had what seemed to be a flame on his head with his arms white and one black. Some animals that were attacking
approached with their alters and he destroyed and absorbed them. The creature didn’t speak but I knew that it was hostile. So I attacked
with the shockwave of the second blitz, but I missed completely. The creature just stood there, it didn’t even try to attack me. I went at it
with normal punches he dodged fairly easily, so I decided to use the shockwave of the third blitz. This time I hit my mark, my arm
went straight through the creature and when I pulled back my hand the piece of him that I had torn absorbed into my alter. The strangest thing
happened next, my alter began to grow and I felt an extremely painful sensation in my arm. Then my alter transformed. It had become
far more powerful surprisingly, and I knew how to use it naturally. I called the attack I was now able to do Shell Bullet. The strange
creature disappeared on me, so I decided to report to headquarters but I wouldn’t tell them of my new abilities. I returned to the transport
and we got back to the headquarters around dusk that night. I reported everything to the Captain, and he didn’t seem surprised of the
creature I told him about. He then instructed me that my welcoming party was tonight and that Kimishima had recovered. He was back
at the apartment with Kanami. When I returned to the room Kanami ran up and hugged me.
"Kazu-kun! Your back." She said happily.
" Yo, Kazuma. Looks like you scored big here, but have you forgot what HOLY did to all the others, how they took our friends captive?
Sure this is nice but where are they?" Kimishima asked.
" They haven’t told me. This is too good to give up Kimishima, and these guys aren’t too bad for the most part. "
" Kazu-kun, I don’t want to live here. I want to go home. " Kanami said.
" Fine. Tonight during the party I'll resign. This is a good life we're giving up but why not this place is boring anyway. " I said, even though
I liked this place.
That night we went to the party and it was huge every HOLY member was there and it was great. There were games, girls, and of
course tons of food. I had always wanted to try a rump roast so I grabbed a full one and started eating it. People came up talking to me
but I wasn’t able to speak because my mouth was full. Kanami and Kimishima both ate too, then they told me I should resign before the
acceptance speech. I stood up and walked to the stage and started to speak.
"Yo, everyone. Thanks for coming, but I can't be a member of HOLY. I think that some of the things you guys do isn't right. And I am
going to resign now, sorry Captain. Unfortunately after tonight we will become enemies once more. I am sorry for this but there is
nothing else that I can do. I can only do what I feel is right. " I thought that speech was good. Kanami wrote it for me before the dinner.
I got off the stage everyone just stared. The three of us then exited the building and started to head out of town. When we
reached the gates Cougar was waiting there already.
" Kazuya, so your leaving now? " He asked me.
" Yes, it's time for me to get back to the life I've always lead. This place isn’t for me Cougar. " I turned and walked out the gate.
" Bye, Kazuya " He yelled.
" IT'S KAZUMA!!! " I yelled back. Then we returned home not knowing what would happen next. Anything could happen from day to day,
and that was how I liked it. |
